Closure of the EVAC Cardiff App

Sadly, the EVAC Cardiff App has closed down and is now no longer available.

Created as part of Cardiff Council’s response to the UEFA Champions League Final in 2017, the EVAC Cardiff App was an initiative dedicated to protecting the safety of the city’s citizens, businesses and visitors by instantly notifying users in the event of a major incident in Cardiff, such as a major fire, flooding, or an act of terrorism.

In the event of a Major Incident, a message would be sent through by Push Notification based on information from the South Wales Police, with ongoing updates, including which area* or sector(s)* to avoid, and where to evacuate to if necessary.

*Cardiff city centre and the bay has been mapped into a series of colour coded ‘Areas’ and numerical ‘Sectors’ to aid in locating major incidents and evacuation points in the city.
