City Sectors

The EVAC partnership have devised maps to show how the city would be viewed in terms of sectors in the event of a major incident.

In the event of a Major Incident, if you have downloaded the EVAC Cardiff App, you will be instantly messaged through a Push Notification based on information from the South Wales Police, with ongoing updates, including which area* or sector(s)* to avoid, and where to evacuate to if necessary.

EVAC Cardiff is an initiative dedicated to protecting the safety of the city’s citizens, businesses and visitors by instantly notifying users in the event of a major incident in Cardiff, such as a major fire, flooding, or an act of terrorism.

*Cardiff city centre and the bay has been mapped into a series of colour coded ‘Areas’ and numerical ‘Sectors’ to aid in locating major incidents and evacuation points in the city.

Red denotes AEDs usually only accessible during office hours (click on icon for access hours).

Nextbike

Nextbike represents an effective and resilient means of transport through the city centre and bay areas that avoids traffic congestion. Even when traffic congestion is at a minimum, it is often quicker and more convenient to reach your destination by cycling.

Cardiff Council is committed to improving the city’s cycling infrastructure in order to create better transport resilience and reduce congestion for road users.
